Arrive Delhi Transfer to Hotel - Day 1
Delhi
- Day 2
Morning at leisure. Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Places we will visit include the India Gate, a drive past the President's House, Qutab Minar & Humayun's tomb.
Delhi - Jaipur - Day 3
Early morning departure (260km / 6 hr). In the afternoon, we will enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the Jaipur, known as the Pink City, covering the City Palace, the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) & Jantar Mantar Observatory.
Jaipur - Ranthambhor - Day 4(140 km / 3 hrs)
Morning: visit Amber Fort, approaching the gates on elephant. After lunch, drive to Ranthambore National Park. Arrive at the wildlife resort in the evening.
Ranthambhor - Day 5
Ranthambhore is a famous tiger reserve under Project Tiger. Here sambers, chital, chinkara, nilgai, wild boars and common langurs provide a good spectrum of prey for the tigers. The national park is 392 skq km of unique habitat consisting of dry, decidious forests with over 300 species of bird - like peafowl, parakeets, partridges, storks, egrets, flycatchers, eagles, owls and migratory varieties in winter months that include the black eagle, greylag goose, ruddy shelducks and pintails.
Morning and evening safaris in open trucks and jeeps, tracking tigers and viewing other wildlife attractions of the park. Overnight at the resort.
Keoledeo Ghana National Park(Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary)-Agra - Day 6
Early morning safari at Ranthambhore. After breakfast, drive to Keoledeo Ghana National Park (Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary). Enjoy a cycle rickshaw in the park , then drive to Agra and en route visit the deserted walled city of Fatehpur Sikri. After noon, a tour of the Taj Mahal
Agra - Khajuraho - Day 7 (191 km / 4 hrs)
Morning visit to Agra Fort. Afterwards, drive to Jhansi for train to Khajuraho.
Bandhavgarh National Park - Day 8
Early Morning: drive to Bandhavgarh National Park (6 hr.) Arrival at noon. Afternoon safari in jeeps for tiger tracking. Overnight at a wildlife resort.
Bandhavgarh National Park - Day 9
Morning and evening jeep safaris. Overnight at a wildlife resort.
Kanha National Park - Day 10 (240 km / 5 hrs)
Early morning safari. After breakfast, we drive to Kanha National Park (7 hrs.) Overnight at wildlife resort.
Kanha National Park - Day 11-12
Morning and evening jeep safaris at Kanha for tiger tracking, exploring the park's natural wilds and/or bird watching. Overnight at a wildlife resort.
Kanha National Park-Pench National Park - Day 13
Morning: jungle visit in the park. After breakfast, we drive to Pench for an afternoon safari.
Bandhavgarh - Kanha - Day 13 (325 km / 7 hrs)
Drive to Kanha. Evening Safari. Overnight Royal Tiger Retreat
Pench - Day 14
Morning safari; afternoon drive to Nagpur (90 kms)
Nagpur-Delhi-Home - Day 15
Fly Nagpur - Delhi (flight IC872 dep. 08:00 arr 09:25). Brief hotel stop for a wash and change of clothes. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Extension to Assam
Day 15: Fly Nagpur - Kolkata (IC 7271 12:00 / 13:25 ON MON AND FRI). Afternoon & evening sightseeing : we will visit the Victoria Memorial, a combination of Italian renaissance and Mughal architecture, the white marble architecture was the British attempt to replicate the Taj Mahal and is a monument to Queen Victoria and a museum dedicated to the Raj; then we visit the Kalighat temple, the main Kali temple (Durga) in Calcutta, to observe the nightly ceremony.
Day 16: Fly Kolkata-Guwahati.(IC 229 0950 /1100 or 9W201 1010 /1120); drive to Manas National Park(150km/4 hrs)
Day 17: Manas: morning and afternoon safaris.
Day 18: Drive Manas - Tezpur (315 km/8 hrs).
Situated on the north bank of the Brahmaputra, Tezpur is a beautiful and multifaceted city steeped in mythology and history. The city has many archaeological sites, hills, lakes and gardens. Either in the evening or following morning we will visit the the Mahabhairab Temple, believed to have been built by King Bana, it has one of the oldest and biggest Shivalingas of the world. The sculptural remains of the Bamuni Hills date back to the 9th Century A.D. A cross-shaped bracket lintel ornamented with horned Kirtimukha panels contains the figures of 10 incarnations of Vishnu. We will also see the Bhomoraguri stone inscription of the Ahom general Kalia Bhomara Barphukan and Harjjar Varman's 9 line inscription, located near Tezpur .
Day 19: Tezpur - Kaziranga National Park (3 hrs). Afternoon jeep safari.
Day 20: Kaziranga. Morning elephant safari, afternoon jeep safari.
Day 21: Kaziranga - Guwahati - Kolkata (or Delhi/)
Flight to Caclutta (flight 9W207 dep 12:00/arr 13:00). Transfer to the hotel near airport. Late night transfer to the international airport.
For those travelers with a return flight from Delhi: flight IC210 (dep. 17:00 arr. 19:05). On arrival , we transfer you to to hotel Ashok Country Resort for a wash and change & then a late night transfer to the international Airport.
