The number of trekkers visiting the Indian Himalaya is small compared to those on the tracks in Nepal, so if you want to peacefully
experience the world's greatest mountain range, our packages in the state of Himachal Pradesh are the way to do it.
Kinnaur, Spiti and Lahaul were the most guarded secrets of the Indian Himalayas until1994, the lands of legends and mythology, abode of the Gods
and Demons; a land of peace and harmony, where people are Hindu Buddhist and every village has a Hindu Temple and a Buddhist Gompa.
Spiti has the largest number, oldest and some of the most important monasteries in the world. Every sect of buddhism is still represented only
here. Prayers in ageless temples are being performed uninterrupted by any outside invasion or disturbance for over a thousand years. There is no
better place like the Greater and the Trans Himalayas for meditation and yoga. Meditation caves dating back to over a thousand years are still in
use here.
So dramatic is the land that on one side there are dense forests, fruit orchards and lush green valleys, while on the other, rugged and barren
mountains and miles and miles of high altitude desert. River Sutlej, the most important of the five major tributaries of the Indus system enters
India near Shipkila and literally cuts the Greater Himalayan belt of Kinnaur in the center, carving in the process spectacular gorges.
This majestic land offers the highest mountain trails, roads and bridges for the adventurer; highest wildlife reserves which abound with the most
exotic birds, animals, flowers and herbs for the naturalist; age old temples, exquisite villages, traditional architecture still in its pristine
beauty and the tribal lifestyles of its inhabitants for the culturally oriented; a place to experience the sounds of silence and the pristine glory
of nature for the solitude seeker. It is the ultimate destination for adventurers and explorers, religious and spiritual path seekers, philosophers,
painters and photographers.
The following packages offer comfortable camping in deluxe tents and/or rest houses, distinguished cooks and expert guides; and are created with
environmental protection consciousness. Solar water heaters, seimens solar lanterns (imported from California), and bio-degradable chemical toilets
from Italy are provided.

Itineraries -- private tours, can be customized
Sarahan-Wangtu (easy grade) 13 Days
This
is an easy and pleasant trek of 4-5 days along the old Hindustan-Tibet
Road. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful walks in the world.
From Sarahan the trail leads through the villages of Sungra and Nechar
where a few ancient temples are located. There are several Rest Houses
along the route, some dating back to 1890, which provided shelter to
travelers and explorers on their way to Tibet. One of the main attractions
of this trail is the local color and the traditional way of life of
the inhabitants.
Kinner-Kailash (moderate grade) 14 Days
Mount
Kinner Kailash has religious significance for the huge "Shiva Lingam,"
the representation of the Lord Shiva. The circuit around the whole range
attracts many pilgrims every year. The Parikrama begins from Kalpa via
Triung Valley and back to Kalpa via Sangla Valley. You will drive up
to Thangi where the actual trekking begins.
