We start with a few days of total relaxation at the exclusive Somatheeram Ayurvedic Resort--situated at one of the finest beaches of India, amidst coconut plantations, in the state of Kerala.

Next we sail the backwaters of Kerala on traditional rice boats, giving us a unique glimpse of life in the tony villages along the narrow canals and lakes.

After an overnight on the boat, we enjoy cultural activities in the port town of Cochin--well-known for their Kathakali Dance performances.

Now we are ready for the adventure of wildlife viewing at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

The last four days are spent exploring the "temple towns of Tamil Nadu" where we will gasp in amazement and appreciation for the ancient stone temples and carvings.
